We collect only what we need to make, send and look after your order.

What we collect
- Orders: your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, and what you bought.
- Account (optional): your name, email address and a securely hashed password. We never see or store your password itself.
- Waitlist and messages: your email address, the piece and size you asked about, and any message you send us.
- Payment: card and wallet details are entered directly with Stripe, our payment processor. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Technical data: basic, privacy-friendly visit statistics (such as pages viewed and country) without advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To process, ship and support your order, including order and shipping emails.
- To run your account and your bag.
- To answer your messages and handle returns.
- To let you know when a piece you asked about becomes available, if you joined the waitlist.
- To keep the shop secure, prevent fraud and meet legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the shop, each bound to protect your data and use it only for us:
- Stripe: payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security and email delivery.
- Neon: secure database hosting.
- Shipping carriers: your name, address and phone number, to deliver your parcel.
We may also disclose information when required by law.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: one keeps the contents of your bag, and one keeps you signed in. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page to process payment securely and prevent fraud. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed for accounting, tax and warranty purposes, typically seven years. Account and waitlist data is kept until you ask us to delete it. Messages are kept as long as needed to support you.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you emails. Residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom and California have these rights by law, along with the right to object to processing and to complain to a data-protection authority. Write to hello@shorterwinter.com and we will reply within 30 days.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Security
All connections to the shop are encrypted, passwords are hashed, and access to order data is restricted to the Shorter Winter team.
Children
The shop is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. See also our terms of service.
